Frio Canyon Lodge in Leakey, Texas
Summer of 2001
Agrosoke was used in the soil prep for the installation of new plant material. All the newly built planters are like islands surrounded by the guest parkinglot; consequently, the heat radiates up and around.
This photo depicts the front entrance planter. Located along themain road and exposed to radiated heat nearly all day. All plants performed well under such hot conditions. Plant material included climbing yellow rose, catmint, magenta gomphrena, orange zinnia linearas, and variegated society garlic.
This photo depicts the front planter planted full with Wax Myrtle tree, Lamb's Ears, Daylilies, Jerusalem sage, Verbena bonariensis, Bleckfoot daisies, Anthony Water Spirea, Russian Sage, Shasta daisy, "Early Sunrise" Coreopsis,e tc.
This planter is partially shaded most of the day, however, the front portion of theplanter is exposed to sunlight. The shady part was planted with Crossvine creeping up the stone wall, holly ferns, purple oxalis and sweet woodruff. The sunny side in the foregound features Lemon-scented thyme which is used by the Lodge's culinary chef.
The plant material in this planter is primarily shade loving although very late in the afternoon is exposed briefly to some sun: japanese Maple, Texas Redbud, Turk's Cap, Texas Gold Columbine, Wood violets, American Beuatyberry, Astillbe, Autumn Fern, Strawberry Geranium, Sweet Autumn Clematis vine, etc.
Holly ferns, Purple Oxalis, a variety of Impatiens and hostas make their planting debut in this bed.
Arbor leading to main courtyard is covered with Lady Banksaii rose and Purple hyacinth bean vine.
The Frio Canyon Lodge received the "Yard Award" from the Frio Canyon Garden Club. Agrosoke was an intrical part of the success of the lodge's landscape projects.

Miami Beach Project
Befores Afters
On the "North Miami" beach, a preservation and beautification project was initiated. A five mile dune was created with an overhead irrigation system. Several types of ground covers, shrubs, and trees were planted with Agrosoke. For the first six months, plants were irrigated 20-minutes a day. The following six months, the irrigation system was turned off and the plants depended upon rainfall. The results, plants survival rate was 95% and included faster plant growth and establishment with adequate coverage to prevent erosion. This was achieved in six months rather than the anticipated twelve month period.

Recognized by the City of Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a featured product in their "Waterways Management Campaign". Los Angeles County set and met their goal of 10% reduction in water consumption. Other California counties are slashing their water usage's by 25%. City water and labor budgets have been dramatically reduced across the United States from California to Florida to Colorado and New Mexico. City plantings and hard-to-irrigate areas have been remarkably improved globally from Hong Kong, Japan, to various areas of Mexico.
